The strategy used to promote tourism in the Algarve is based on different tourism products. The campaigns to advertise and promote the region concentrate on its qualities in the Sun & Sea, Golf, Residential Tourism and Meeting Industry segments, whilst also giving added emphasis to emerging tourism products such as Health and Welness, Sport, Nature Tourism and Cultural Tourism. The ATA promotes the Algarve on those outbound markets which constitute the heaviest flow of tourists to the region, in addition to other emerging markets that show excellent potential. The United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, Holland, Spain, Scandinavia, France, Italy, Canada, Poland and Russia are just a few of the major world markets targeted by the ATA’s promotional efforts.
